The second occasion on which the church was damaged in WW2.
An extract, with photograph, taken from the ARP Warden’s Log of 25th November 1940, which lists that shell damage was sustained to the south wall of the church occasioning a large hole which also destroyed the Goldsack Memorial window.
This damage put the church out of action for a while.
