Thank you Christine and also Dawn sedgwick for the photograph. I did check with the archive dept at Canterbury Cathedral for the burial records for that period, but they do not have them and ,as you say, they don’t appear to be at St. Margarets either. Vanished,it seems, without trace….Although I did view them in the 1960’s.
Thank you for this information. Its always good to know more about former residents. I have checked what we have on the graveyard records and sadly cannot help with any new info on the grave location. Same for me with my GGG grandparents unfortunately, no records.
Best wishes

This is my parents grave. I am their only child,Eileen Sherwood Savage.D.O.B 4th July 1944.
Richard Morris Savage was born In Largs Ayrshire Scotland on 3rd september 1885,eldest son of Maggie (nee Morris) and Richard Savage, both of Largs.Richard Morris savage was a WW1 veteran,Black Watch Regt. He was gassed 3 times, blinded in one eye by shrapnel and shot through the thigh.
My Mother,Eileen Ethel Sherwood, born 7th September 1906 lived in St.Margarets with her family throughout her childhood. Both her parents Ethel (nee Leale) and Frank Caton Sherwood are also buried in the churchyard, but in an unmarked grave. I know the location ,but am unable to erect a memorial to them as I had wished to do as apparently the records of these burials have been mislaid ,sadly. since I last viewed them many years ago.
