Land Army Girls working on local farms. (1)
Three photographs featuring Land Army girls at work on local farms during WW2.
It is likely that these photographs were posed for propaganda shots arranged by the Ministry of Information for an exhibition to be shown in the USA highlighting the bravery of the Land Army girls continuing to farm under the constant threat of enemy fire from long range guns and attacks from the air.
The photographers were also asked to include farm buildings in the area that had been obviously war damaged, eg Reach Court Farm and Hope Farm.
