Land Army Girls working on local farms. (3)
Further photographs featuring Land Army girls at work on local farms during WW2.
It is likely that these were part of a portfolio of posed propaganda shots arranged by the Ministry of Information for an exhibition to be shown in the USA highlighting the bravery of the land Army girls continuing to farm under the constant threat of enemy fire from long range guns and attacks from the air.
These photographs appear to have been taken on farms just off Station Road in the Nelson Park area.
