St Margaret's Bay from The Leas. 1920s
This is a delightful view taken from The Leas looking SW across The Bay and showing the whole panorama of the South Foreland Valley.
On the skyline can be seen the lower lighthouse to the left, and then the windmill apparently without its sails, and then further to the right the South Foreland Upper Light.
The Ness shows severe erosion is taking place, and the garden of The Green Man looks unkept and very overgrown. The huddle of bathing machines would tend to date this around the 1920’s.
