The postcard is named ‘FREDA’S VIEW’. In the middle distance is the house called South Lawn which was formerly Brotherstone built by Walter Emden about 1896.
The postcard is from Mrs Emden addressed simply to Mrs Clayson, The Tea Rooms. Mrs Clayson was the proprietor of the Rustic Tea Rooms in Sea Street, St Margaret’s. As there is no stamp it is likely the card was hand delivered. The message is headed ‘Home Mission Sale’ and states ‘Please come to a meeting on Friday 22nd inst. 4.45 pm at Loxley’.
