Western Docks, Dover. sent to Mr EW Newman, postmarked 19 October 1909
This postcard from the Valentine Series shows a view of the Western Docks, Dover. The card is addressed to Mr EW Newman of Ponders End, Middlesex and is postmarked the 19 October 1909. At the beginning of this year, the Prince of Wales Pier was officially opened, and at the top left can be seen construction work still underway on the Southern Breakwater with three Travelling Goliath cranes in position to manoeuvre the building blocks.
