Reach Meadow views and council estate footings. 1950s
Photographs of Reach Meadow and views towards Sea Street and the repeater station in Lighthouse Road at the commencement of the construction of the council house estate. They were taken by Hazel Pay in the early 1950s.
The fields, owned by Mr. Laslett, were used for the village sports from the late 1800s until 1914.
The cross on the second photograph marks the repeater station for the continental telephone cable.
