Returning from the beach up Bay Hill. c1946.
Photograph of members of the Denoon family returning from the beach. The photograph is taken near the top of Bay Hill with the Madge memorial field on the left.
The accompanying narrative identifies the figures in the photograph with the exception of the man in the foreground. ‘Tommie’ is Gordon Denoon’s wife, Ian and Mary two of his children.
Although the photograph is undated the Denoon family took their first St Margaret’s holiday after the end of WWII in 1946. Ian would have been 12 years old. It is possible that the man in the foreground is an off-duty American serviceman.
