Second Lieutenant Geoffrey Hobbs RFC
Second Lieutenant Geoffrey Hobbs age 19. The first WW1 airman to die at Dover, buried in St Margaret’s churchyard. His original 1915 grave marker has recently been restored by the St Margaret’s History Society with the support of the National Heritage Lottery Fund and private donors, and is on display in the village church through kind permission of the St Margaret’s at Cliffe Parochial Church Council.
