St Margaret's Sea Scouts, c.1930
One of the Coastguards was Mr Jewson (1928-1934/5) who was Scout Master of the 1st St. Margaret’s 5th Dover Sea Scouts.
The Sea Scouts had two 18ft whalers in the Bay in which they used to take part in the local regattas. Some Sundays they would row out to the South Goodwin Lightship with local papers and gifts of fruit and sail back; all training for regatta racing.
This troup is thought to have represented the local area at the 1929 International Jamboree in Birkenhead.
