St Margaret's Church from 'The Gentleman's Magazine'. 1803 [?]
A black and white print of the church of St. Margaret of Antioch marked ‘Gent. Mag. June 1803 Pl. II.p.’ and presumably cut from a magazine of the time. There is a date of 1773 in brickwork on the south side of the tower, together with the initials, near the top the tower, of either the churchwardens of the time or the craftsmen involved, which can be assumed to be the date of one of the repairs to this unstable tower. This image probably precedes 1773. Other lettering relates to the religious dedication of this work e.g. I C is an abbreviation of ‘Jesus Christi’.
