Adcock's Villas, St Margaret's Bay. c1930
A tinted photograph by Photocrom Co. Ltd. shows Adcock’s Villas built in the 1880s, a terrace of tile hung cottages with a narrow lane to the front.
The message on the postcard refers to the derelict state of the properties, attributing this to bomb damage although the properties on the beach were actually destroyed by the army as a ‘Battle School’ or training area during the Second World War.
Postmarked 10.45am 24 July 1950.
