Denoon family and friends on the Long Steps. 1916 to 1969

A series of four photographs featuring members of the Denoon family and friends taken at the foot of the steps in St Margaret’s Bay. The photographs run from 1916 to 1969.
The first photograph taken in 1916 features, from left to right, Gordon Denoon’s mother, his sister Muriel, Lorna Darch a family friend, and Gordon’s father.
The second photograph taken in 1926 features a friend of the family Mr Holloway (top left in the flat cap), then Alice (Mr Holloway’s daughter), Gordon Denoon (centre back), Gordon’s wife Tommie and Hilda Galley, friend of Tommie. The small girl in front is Gordon’s daughter Joan.
The third photograph taken in 1947 is captioned in the album as ‘After prawning, Ian with the Ebbel family’. The Ebbels were friends of the Denoon family and Ian is Gordon Denoon’s son (top right) who would have been about 14 here.
The fourth photograph taken in 1969 is of Gordon’s daughter Joan with her son Paul.
