Tracked Agricultural Vehicles at Reach Court Farm
Three photographs taken at Reach Court Farm of tracked agricultural machinery. The photographs were thought to have been taken during WW2.
The righthand photograph shows, in the distance, two supporting trestles of the aerial ropeway designed to deliver coal from Tilmanstone Colliery to the bunker on Dover Harbour’s Eastern Arm. The aerial cables were supported on steel trestles with buckets for the coal attached at intervals.
The photographs also show construction materials in the distance which may have been for military installations in the area in which Wanstone Gun Battery was located.
