St Margaret's Bay from Ness Point. c1900
This view looking NE across the Bay from The Ness was taken around 1900. Properties in the Bay are beginning to enclose their gardens. There was no need for sea defences at this time since the impact of the building of Dover Harbour had yet to be felt, (which was to interrupt the natural drift of shingle ) Properties are slowly being developed along the cliffs.
