St Margaret's Bay from Ness Point. 1880s
A view from the Ness looking NE across the Bay taken in the late 1800’s. The lack of property development on the cliffs and the fact that the Coastguard boathouses and flagpole, used for signals, are still in existence, suggests that the new Coastguard Station at the top of Bay Hill is not yet completed. This dates this image to the early 1880’s as the new cottages were ready by 1884.
