Black and white photocopy of the 1922 sale particulars for the South Foreland Lighthouse power station, cottages, 350ft long gallery and over five acres of land for auction at the Parish Hall, St Margaret’s at Cliffe at 3pm on the 24th August 1922 . The property was to be sold by the Corporation of Trinity House. The ten page booklet includes 2 photographs and a site plan. The text includes a detailed description of the buildings including their layout and dimensions. Also listed are two covered sunk water tanks (each holding 35,000 gallons of water) and a well house. The particulars suggest the site would make a fine residential property, hotel or institution. There is also reference in the Conditions of Sale (item 5) of a previous (but no longer an enduring obligation) for a payment from the land to be made to the Vicar of Bethersden dating to 1869 involving the LOUD, EAST, THOMPSON and BOYS families.
