Ness Point from the beach. pre WW II
Looking SW at the western end of the Bay. In this pre WW II image, a concrete sea defence wall is in place but no groynes. One assumes that The Ness provides some degree of protection from the scouring effect of wind, current and tides and therefore groynes are considered unnecessary in this area.
