Cliffhanger - A Gunners Story by J.W.Clark (Pages 50-53)
‘Cliffhanger’ is the title of a diary kept by J.W.Clark as an Anti-Aircraft gunner during WW2. The diary spans a period from 1938, when Mr Clark joined up, to the end of 1940. The majority of this period was spent establishing and operating the Anti-Aircraft batteries at Swingate (between Dover and St Margarets) with occasional postings to AA batteries at Hawkinge, Dover and on the Isle of Wight. The diary includes day by day accounts of the intensity of enemy air action in our area during the period known as the Battle of Britain.
These pages cover the period from October to November 1940.
