Destruction of 'The Village in The Bay'
A series of photographs showing the destruction of the St Margaret’s Bay community. The houses and buildings in the bay were used by troops during WW2 as training for beach landing and house-to-house fighting. The first photograph is of Adcocks Villas, the fourth is of the St Margaret’s Bay Hotel (Lanzarotte). The community was never restored after the war’s end. The photographs were probably taken after the war in 1945.
