Looking eastward from the valley towards Brotherstone and The Bay.
The view is of the cliff tops looking towards the Bay, with the house then called ‘Brotherstone’ in the middle distance. Two young girls are sitting and reclining in a field in the foreground.
The reverse is annotated stating that the house is ‘South Lawn’ and was previously named ‘Brotherstone’, designed and built by Mr. Walter Emden in about 1896.
The written message advises the addressee of a Home Mission Sale and notice of a meeting at ‘Loxley’, another house built by Emden in the village.
