Bay Trust's successful bid for the Coastguard Cottages, Bay Hill. 1980
This is a press cutting from the Dover Express of 22nd August 1980. It states that Mr Cleary, the well known philanthropist, who lives at South Sands House, successfully tendered on behalf of the St Margaret’s Bay Trust to purchase the 2 1/2 acre site at the top of Bay Hill and the Coastguard cottages thereon. He succeeded against 19 other tenders. Built in 1884, it is the second oldest building in the Bay after South Sands House.
