Repairing the groynes at The Leas end of the Bay. Early 1950s
From the Gordon Denoon album a photograph taken from the far eastern end of the Bay towards the Bay Cottages (untouched by wartime activities) showing a crane involved in repairing the groynes.
Noel Coward’s house is in the foreground, bearing his trademark ‘wings’ on the facade. He left the house in 1951.
