Excelsior Tea Rooms, pre and post WW2
Two photographs taken from the Gordon Denoon album. The first is a copy of a postcard, the second taken from approximately the same spot in 1945.
In his book ‘Saga of St Margaret’s’, Gordon captions the first photograph:
‘As we knew it before World War I (note in the distance the cottages incorporated in the Bay Hotel)’
The second is simply captioned:
‘As we saw it in 1945’
